Gnuccerzi Devils

Retired!
Race:  Elven Union
Coach:  Dr.Oster
Description
The Tilean coasts have for eras been raided by dark elf fleets. Captured elves were sent to arena games to fight both wild animals and each other. The survivors became the first elven gladiators. In time, wood elves and high elves "acquired" from mercenary expeditions have been added to the ranks.

Master Gnuccerzi originally started out owning a Cross Check ice-skating arena team. Due to difficulties in ice delivery though, he turned to Blood Bowl. Ever since, the Gnuccerzi Devils have reaped victims... while occasionally scoring a goal or two

Memento Mori
An old man wearing simple clothing walks from the changing rooms through the entrance leading to the arena field. The sign on the archway above reads "Memento Mori", a Tilean saying reminding the gladiators that all men must die and that only through death will the gladiators truly be free. Every elven player knows that to suffer injuries and dismissal is a fate far worse than death, being forced to live as outcasts in a hostile Tilea, mistreated as strangers and pariahs until they either perish from poverty and starvation or by their own hands. Their only chance of glory is in the arena. There is no escape.

Passing through the corridor leading to the field, the old man glances at the walls that are covered on both sides by large brass plaques, showing rows after rows of old gladiator names along with their achievements. He finds the right plaque where there is still space left and stops. Carefully he picks out a small bag of etching tools and starts to work.

The season is over and a few more Devils have suffered their inevitable fate. He searches for the names from last season and happens upon the name of Leviatano. The name has a pitiful zero etched after it, denoting his lack of achievements. Under Leviatano, the names Farfarello (36) and Libicocco (33) follow suit. Below that the brass plaque is ready for new inscriptions. Carefully he starts etching in the new losses from this season; elves who finally have made a name for themselves.

Cagnazzo (24).
"Stubborn until the end. Dismissed by injury."

Barbariccia (42).
"Fate caught up with him. Dismissed by injury."

Orocoglione (36).
"Too weak for play. Dismissed by injury."

The old man looks at the names with a blank expression on his face when he is done etching. He finishes the etchings by dipping a piece of cloth in a jar of red wet paste, wiping it along the new names, setting the letters in a crimson color so they stand out from the glimmering brass plaque.

He packs up and turns to walk down back into the bowels of the arena, awaiting another season and new names to memorialize in the arena hallways.
